When we travel, many of us want to capture and retain the memory of a beautiful place, but find it challenging. A photo captures one
moment, the light just then, and focuses upon a single image. Offering tours combined with workshops that allow people to explore more deeply the place around them is a passion of mine. At this time,I am offering 2 upcoming workshops that allow time to translate the place and stories into art- and no experience is required! This is the appeal of feltmaking- it is quite easy to learn, and one can paint with the fiber to create striking works of art.
I have recently finished several felted pieces that resonate with the landscapes of Irel
and and Scotland, as well as the place I live- the northwoods of Wisconsin and Lake Superior coast. These are examples of the type of feltmaking we will be doing in the upcoming workshops/tours. ng and knitting. We will watch tweed weavers work magic at their looms, and Irish artists create with hand-dyed fleece. Interspersed will be visits to craft villages, galleries and ancient prehistoric and Celtic sites, and days of immersion creating our own art with the luscious Irish yarns and fleeces.
