Ireland 2017!

I am in Ireland enjoying a range of activities- from meeting people for our September tour and workshop, absorbing the mountains and green fields, to doing some eco-printing with Nicola Brown who will be our workshop leader. Nicola just brought back a fantastic new pot for boiling the bundles from France, and we fired it up for the first time! On our tour we will be immersed in Irish culture, while exploring eco-printing with native vegetation and learning from Nicola’s wealth of experience. We will also visit a local woolen mill, with gorgeous handwoven items, as well as a unique sheep farm, with stops at the studios of local artists. Beautiful Kilgraney House will be our home away from home, with delicious locally sourced food and luxury surroundings. Read all the details here: fiber-art-and-ecoprinting-tour-2017

Fiber Art workshops and tours 2017

It has been a Fiber Art February!! Planning isdscn0514 taking shape for some fantastic new workshops and tours for  fiber art fans! Here at my new Riverrun Pottery and Fiber Art studios, I have been busy experimenting with eco-ddscn0528yeing, nuno felting, and learning to use a new felt rolling machine. I will be continuing the large felted landscapes using the machine to lay out the base layers
and felt them. I love the idea of using local and natural plant dscn0533materials to create beautiful textiles…and I am currently enrolled in an eco-dyeing class with Nicola Brown in Ireland. The big news is that Nicola and I are planning a workshop in September, in Ireland, learning all about eco-printing from her in the beautiful Irish countryside. The class is for people of all skill levels. As soon as we have the final figures in the next few weeks, the brochure will be posted. Limited to 10 people!!

I will also be offering fiber art workshops here in northern Wisconsin and on Madeline Island, as well as a week long “Felting the Landscape” class at John Campbell Folk School in October. It is so exciting! More very soon……with dates and details!

I will be spending March in France, immersing myself in language and culture, as well as scouting for future workshops and tours. I will also be visiting Ireland and working with Nicola Brown on our plans. I am looking forward to gathering some botanicals and printdscn0230ing with them while in the French countryside! A bientot!DSCF8748
